PVGAZPROM NGV and KAMAZ Sign Cooperation Agreement
Today, PVGAZPROM NGV and KAMAZ have entered into a Cooperation Agreement at Saint Petersburg International Gas Forum 2021. Andrey Bogachev, General Director of PVGAZPROM NGV, and Rustam Shamsutdinov, Deputy General Director for Sales and Service of KAMAZ, have signed the document in the presence of Sergey Tumanov, Managing Director of Gazprom EP International.
“We continue to actively participate in Vietnam's NGV market development and consider the motor vehicle segment as a crucial one in this project. There is no doubt that close cooperation with KAMAZ will give it a fresh impetus and contribute to the popularization of LNG as fuel for various types of vehicles in Vietnam”, said Sergey Tumanov.
“Vietnam is one of the key foreign markets for us and it is our ambition to expand the model range in the country by using vehicles running on natural gas. With the support of PVGAZPROM NGV we can make it faster and more efficient”, commented Rustam Shamsutdinov.
Background
A Russia-Vietnam joint venture PVGAZPROM Natural Gas for Vehicles was established in 2015. The joint venture consists of Gazprom EP International B.V. (71%) and PETROVIETNAM GAS (29%). The company implements a joint pilot project aimed at constructing a Vietnam-based small-scale complex for the production of LNG to be used as NGV.
Petrovietnam is engaged in the exploration, production, processing, transportation and sales of hydrocarbons.
KAMAZ is the largest motor vehicle corporation in the Russian Federation that manufactures trucks and passenger vehicles. It is also a top-20 global manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks. KAMAZ manufactures over 60 models and 1,500 configurations that are widely used when producing special vehicles for various sectors of economy.
