8th Corporate Fakel Festival Awards Winners in Sochi

The final round of the Gazprom’s 8th corporate Fakel Festival came to an end in Sochi (Krasnaya Polyana).

The delegations representing 39 Gazprom’s subsidiaries from Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and the CNPC (China) performers participated in the Festival. Total number of participants exceeded 1600 people. Among the guests of the festival were the colleagues from the Gazprom's foreign partner companies based in Bolivia, Vietnam, Germany, Uzbekistan and France.

The Festival's jury assessed 131 performances. Two inclusive children’s groups (with disabled children) named Preodoley-ka (Moscow) and Zazerkalye (Astrakhan), sign language music ensemble, performed out of the competition program.

The Grand Prix of the Festival was granted to vocalist Enzhe Akhmetzyanova (Gazprom Transgaz Kazan), the Zorenka youth ensemble (Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg), the Oranzhevyi Kot dance ensemble (Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk), and the United Bit dance team (Gazprom Transgaz Ukhta).

The special awards from the Gazprom's partners were also presented at the event. Sofia Kuchina (Gazprom Transgaz Moscow), a participant of the Young Painter Contest, won a prize from VNG (Germany) — a visit to Dresden and its famous art gallery. The representatives of ENGIE (France) awarded two vocalists Anna Peresvetova (Gazprom Dobycha Astrakhan) and Gulnara Valeeva (Gazprom Transgaz Ufa) with a trip to Paris including a visit to the Grand Opera.

The special award from the Director General of Gazprom Transgaz Krasnodar (the organizer of the Festival's final round) was presented to the youngest participant — Lev Galanov (Gazprom Transgaz Tchaikovsky) who had recently turned five years old.
Background

The Fakel Festival is held once every two years in three stages. During the first stage, the Gazprom’s subsidiaries determine their best performers to participate in the regional rounds. During the second stage, the regional rounds are held (in the southern and northern zones). Then the winners perform in the third and final round.

The first corporate Fakel Festival was held in 2004–2005. The host cities of the regional rounds were Astrakhan, Belgorod, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg (twice), Surgut, Tomsk, Khanty-Mansiysk and Yugorsk. The final rounds of the Festival were held in Gelendzhik (2006–2012), Vitebsk (Belarus, 2013) and Sochi (2015 and 2017).
