Gazprom EP International Sponsors Youth Conference
Gazprom EP International was a Strategic Sponsor of the 73rd International Youth Conference “Oil and Gas — 2019” held on 22–25 April 2019. According to the resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas annually hosts the Conference with the support of top oil and gas companies. The event brought together more than 2100 people.
Andrey Fick, Managing Director and CEO of Gazprom EP International, sent a welcoming speech to the participants of the 73rd International Youth Conference: “It’s the second year Gazprom EP International is a Strategic Sponsor of the Conference. It is impossible to work in an international environment with many challenges and high competition without highly skilled specialists. The knowledge base is established during student years and, therefore, we strive to contribute to generating genuine interest in gas industry development among young people. I am convinced that, in addition to the valuable exchange of information, such conferences invigorate through networking and motivate to increase knowledge”.
This year, the panel discussion “Oil and Gas of the Future: Youth, Leadership, Innovations” became an important part of the first-day program of the conference. Viktor Martynov, Rector of the Gubkin University, Pavel Sorokin, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, and Executives of oil and gas companies participated in this discussion. The session addressed such issues as digital transformation and artificial intelligence in the oil and gas industry, and upward mobility for young people. The speakers answered the questions from young people at the end of the panel discussion. The program also included 27 thematic sessions and interactive events: trainings, master classes, and round tables held together with oil and gas companies and federal agencies. In total, the young specialists presented over 700 scientific papers at the conference.
Moreover, the in-person stage of the 4th All-Russian Competition “The Best Student Scientific Society of the Russian Oil and Gas Higher Education Establishments” and the international intellectual game “Oil Owl” among the youth of the enterprises, organizations and educational establishments of oil and gas industry were held within the framework of the Conference.
