Gazprom EP International supported the memorial event
Management and staff of Gazprom International’s headquarters in Amsterdam took part in a memorial event dedicated to the International Day of Fascist Concentration Camps Prisoners Liberation and the 74th anniversary of the liberation of prisoners from women’s concentration camp, Ravensbrück.
As part of this event, a meeting was held in the center of Amsterdam with participation of former prisoners of the concentration camp, representatives of the CVR Foundation (Stichting Comité Vrouwenconcentratiekamp) and city authorities. Residents and guests of the Dutch capital laid wreaths at the monument to the victims of Ravensbrück at the Museumplein square. Afterwards, by tradition, a charity lunch was held for the participants of the event in the Gazprom International’s headquarters.
International Day of Fascist Concentration Camps Prisoners Liberation is celebrated annually on 11 April. It was adopted by the United Nations as a remembrance day for victims in commemoration of the international insurrection organized by prisoners of Buchenwald, on 11 April 1945, when they have heard about the Soviet troops approach. This day, all over the world take place reunions of former prisoners, commemorations and tributes to the memory of those who perished, wreath-laying ceremonies at their graves and burial sites of the victims of fascism.
