The Djel Field
On 25 January 2006, Gazprom and Uzbekneftegaz signed an Agreement on the Main Principles of the Subsoil Geological Study of the Investment Blocks in the Ustyurt Region, the Republic of Uzbekistan, under which Gazprom, represented by Gazprom International Limited, performed a stage-by-stage exploration program of seven investment blocks.
On 22 June 2009, in the course of exploration works within the Shakhpakhtinsky investment block at the Ustyrt Plateau the Djel gas and condensate field under was discovered.
On 18 October 2018, in Tashkent, the Republic of Uzbekistan (the Ministry of Energy) and Gazprom International Limited signed a Production Sharing Agreement regarding the Djel field.
Operating Company Zarubezhneftegaz — Central Asia LLC obtained a subsoil license within the PSA area, and a mining license for the Djel field.
At the moment, a draft of the Djel field development project has been prepared alongside with a field development feasibility study that is undergoing an expert review by the state authorities of Uzbekistan. It is planned to put the field on stream in 2026.
