North Sea
The North Sea is a shallow sea bounded by the coastlines of the United Kingdom in the west, Norway and Denmark in the east, and Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and France in the south, and it is divided into respective economic zones accordingly. North Sea hydrocarbons are Europe’s large energy source.
Gazprom International participates in exploration and production in the North Sea (i.e. Sillimanite unit and Wintershall Noordzee — WINZ, a joint venture), which, apart from gas production, allows:
- acquiring new experience, embracing cutting-edge technology, deploying exploration techniques to prospect and explore gas, condensate, and oil reservoirs, and producing hydrocarbons in the setting of a northern sea;
- building stronger partnerships with businesses boasting many years of experience in exploration and production in the North Sea.
