A meeting with staff from the company METROL Technology (David Moss, Business Development Director and Scott Divers, Regional Manager (UAE)) took place on Monday at the offices of the Joint Operating Company Vietgazprom. Leading specialists from the Exploration Department took part in the meeting from the Joint Operating Company's side.
METROL Technology offered up-to-date methods for carrying out tests on exploratory wells - for example, deposits in the North and Caspian Seas, the Bay of Mexico, and also Vietnam. Options for data transfer and acoustic signal process control were examined. The parties discussed the possibility of optimising Vietgazprom's well-test package in the north and south licensed blocks.
The company METROL Technology has been providing services to the world's major oil-and-gas companies in the field of exploratory well testing, deposit development and well injection for more than 20 years. The company in particular offers advanced technologies for the application of wireless telemetry systems (acoustic signal transfer along well tubes) for measuring pressure and temperature in boreholes when carrying out well tests, and the control of sampling devices and perforation explosives - including high temperature and pressure conditions (up to 205ºC and 26,000 psi).
