The underlying principles of the Strategy are as follows:
- Work Programs include engineering and environmental studies providing information on what ecosystems are like in regions where works are conducted;
- Project lifecycle planning is comprehensive and includes environmental safety and ecosystem restoration after works are completed;
- Focus is on preserving energy efficiency and complying with the environmental rules of applicable law subject to the requirements of all the stakeholders in a project;
- Sustainable development and technology require continuous investment in safer and cleaner exploration and production.
