A working meeting has taken place between the Chairman of Gazprom's Board and the General Manager of KNG PetroVietnam
A working meeting between Aleksey Miller (Chairman of Gazprom's Board) and Phung Dinh Thuc (General Manager of the State Oil-and-Gas Corporation, KNG PetroVietnam) took place today in Hanoi.
Valeri Gulyev (Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz's General Manager) and Nguyen Tien Dung (KNG PetroVietnam's deputy General Manager) also took part in the meeting.
They were discussing the issue of developing collaboration in the exploration, production and sale of hydrocarbons in block 112 and blocks 129-132 of Vietnam's continental shelf.
The operator for the contract is the Joint Operating Company Vietgazprom, created on an equal-shares basis between Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz (a Gazprom subsidiary company) and the PVEP Corporation (a subsidiary of the Vietnamese National Oil-and-Gas Group PetroVietnam) in accordance with a contract dated 11 September 2000.
Great appreciation of the results of Vietgazprom's activity in developing Vietnam's continental shelf was given at the meeting. Issues surrounding bilateral cooperation in the energy sector were discussed during the negotiations, including the prospects for the participation of the Vietnamese side in implementing the Eastern gas programme.
The Gazprom delegation took part in the negotiations and meetings within the scope of an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam by the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedyev.
