An international gas exhibition opened at the Vietnam Oil & Gas Expo on 27th October, dedicated to the fifteenth anniversary of Vietnam’s oil and gas industry.
The opening ceremony was attended by Vice President of Vietnam, Nguyễn Thị Doan, Chairman of the board of directors of the Vietnamese Oil & Gas group PetroVietnam, Phung Dinh Thuc, and President of the Corporation, Do Van Hau.
VietGazprom had a stand at the exhibition which was visited by the leaders of PetroVietnam, the corporation for the exploration and production of oil and gas (PVEP). Director General Valery Petrenko greeted guests. He described VietGazprom's activities, its future plans and prospects for the company.
On the same day, the Russian National Seminar took place within the context of the Vietnam Oil & Gas Expo, organised by Gazprom and the Russian Federation's Ministry for Natural Resources and the Environment.
Alexei Oryel, Director of State Policy in the field of geology and mineral resources for the Ministry for Natural Resources, opened the seminar by reporting on the implementation of state policy of the Russian Federation in the field of geology and natural resources.
Then, Vladimir Vovk, head of engineering and offshore technology from Gazprom's Department of Gas, Gas Condensate and Oil Production, told the crowd about Gazprom's tasks in the development of Russia's continental shelf and those of other foreign countries, and in particular, Vietnam. Nikolai Makarov, Deputy Director General of Zarubezhneft, and Stanislav Zhdanov, First Deputy General Director of VNIIneft, also spoke at the seminar. The Russian seminar is traditionally conducted within the framework of the world’s largest oil and gas activities.
The Vietnam Oil & Gas Expo is held once every two years. It is usually attended by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group PetroVietnam, its subsidiaries and partner companies as well as the world’s largest oil and gas companies. This time the exhibition will feature 194 companies from 21 different countries. Among the Russian participants in the exhibition are Gazprom and Zarubezhneft. It will continue until 29th October.
