Joint Operating Company Vietgazprom has completed its preliminary qualification of contractors for integrated interpretation of geological and geophysical survey data. The work includes 2D seismic surveys, gravimetric and magnetic surveys, electrical surveys, and geochemical studies on Blocks 129, 130, 131, and 132 offshore Vietnam.
The integrated interpretation of geological and geophysical survey data will be used to select the drill site for the first exploratory well in Blocks 129-132.
Preliminary qualification was conducted to gauge the market for this type of services.
Background:
Joint Operating Company Vietgazprom is developing Blocks 129, 130, 131, and 132 under an Oil-and-Gas Contract signed in 2008 between PetroVietnam, Gazprom, PVEP, and Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz.
Blocks 129-132, with a total area of 28,400 km2, are located on the southern continental shelf offshore Vietnam. The study of these blocks will include a full spectrum of geological and geophysical surveys: 2D and 3D seismic surveys, geochemical studies, electrical surveys, and the drilling of exploratory and prospecting wells.
