View AllVietgazprom completes the interpretation of data from geochemical studies
In the joint operating company "Vietgazprom" interpretation of geochemical data has been completed. The data was obtained during geochemical surveys in Blocks 129, 130, 131 and 132 of the continental shelf of Vietnam.
The interpretation was carried by the contractor, the Okeangeologiya Federal State Unitary Enterprise, which is currently continuing to draw up a report on the work done.
The results of this interpretation will be used during the combined interpretation of data from geochemical studies and the 2D seismic survey. Based on the results of the combined interpretation, areas for offshore electrical exploration in Blocks 129–132 will be selected.

Blocks 129, 130, 131 and 132 of the continental shelf of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam are being developed by the Vietgazprom Joint Operating Company within the framework of the of the Oil and Gas Contract signed in 2008 by Petrovietnam (the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group), Gazprom OJSC, Petrovietnam Exploration & Production Corporation (PVEP) and Gazprom Zarubezhneftegaz CJSC.
Blocks 129–132, with a total area of 28,400 km2, lie in the southern part of Vietnam's shelf. The study of these Blocks envisages a full range of geological and geophysical work: 2D and 3D seismic surveys, geochemical studies, electrical exploration, drilling of a prospecting well and some exploration wells.
In August 2010, 2D seismic and geochemical studies were completed in these Blocks. Initially, the work was planned to be completed in 2011, but by combining stages II and III they were completed earlier than planned.
