On 11 November, the second regional tour of Fakel Corporate Performing Arts Festival for groups and individual performers representing PJSC Gazprom subsidiaries, ended in Tyumen. The event was organized by Gazprom transgaz Surgut.
This was Gazprom International debut in the festival and was crowned with success. After submitting the best artworks selected via a corporate drawing contest for children, Anya Eliseeva, the daughter of Maria Eliseeva of the Gazprom International Moscow Branch, was one of the winners of the selection round
In addition to the participants of the Young Artist drawing contest, a total of over 1,000 performers representing 20 subsidiaries and organizations of Gazprom took part in the festival. The programme included 146 performances in the following categories: vocal performance, choreography, instrumental performance, circus and variety, original genre and folklore. The participants were divided in three age groups: children from 5 to 10, children from 11 to 16, and adults from 17 and over.
During the Tyumen round held in the Neftyanik House of Culture last week, the Northern region winner was chosen. The Southern region’s best performers were selected earlier at a similar event held in Ufa between October 15 and 22.
The competition jury, composed of choreographers, directors, vocalists and dancers, was chaired by Alexandra Permyakova, People's Artist of Russia, winner of the Russian Government Award, member of the Presidium of Russia’s Presidential Council for Culture and the Arts, Professor and Director of the Pyatnitsky Russian Folk Choir.
Several workshops were also held by members of the respected jury during the competition days.
“We are happy to be taking part in such a big cultural event. Who knows — maybe the Fakel festival will give one of our colleagues the opportunity of becoming a real star”, said Andrey Fick, Managing Director and CEO of Gazprom International.
The final round of the festival, where the winners of the Northern and the Southern regional rounds will compete, is to take place in May 2017 in Sochi.
Fakel is a corporate festival for amateur performing arts groups and individual performers from PJSC Gazprom's subsidiaries and organizations.
The festival takes place every two years and consists of three tours. During the first tour, the best performers of PJSC Gazprom's subsidiaries are selected. They then progress to the regional stage of the competition.
The second tour is held at the level of regional festivals (Northern and Southern regions), and the winners proceed to the final tour.
The very first edition of the Fakel corporate festival for Gazprom’s independent performers was held 12 years ago.
