A set of geophysical studies has been carried out at the Shakhrinav-1P well
Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz has carried out a set of geophysical studies (GIS) at the Shakhrinav-1P well to a depth of 2,059 metres.
"Geophysical studies of the well were intended to study the geological cross-section, and also to check the technical condition of the well shaft", said Igor Shatalov, deputy director for production at Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz's representative office in the Republic of Tajikistan. "The data obtained during the GIS will enable us to compare the projected and real information regarding the structure of the sub soil and detail the plans for further drilling".
The set of GIS was repeatedly taken throughout the entire well drilling process. The next studies will be conducted when a depth of 3,000 metres is reached.
Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz started drilling the Shakhrinav-1P exploratory well on 7 December 2010.
The projected depth of the well is 6,300 metres.
Drilling has reached 2,059 metres at the present time.
Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz is carrying out geological exploration in 4 oil-and-gas prospective fields in Tajikistan: Sarikamysh, Sargazon, Rengan and West Shokhambari.
