The inauguration of the Museum of Geology in Tajikistan took place on 9th December in Dushanbe, following its reconstruction, where President Emomali Rahmon met with Tajik geologists, industry veterans, heads of ministries and departments, students, the geology faculty of the Tajik National University, as well as representatives of foreign companies with a presence in the country. The meeting was attended by the deputy director of Gazprom International in the Republic of Tajikistan, Zinaida Crassus.
In her speech to the crowd, Ms. Crassus described the production activity being conducted in Tajikistan by Gazprom International – Gazprom’s project operator - for the search and exploration of hydrocarbons outside the Russian Federation.
Particular attention was paid in the speech to the process of drilling the "Shakhrinav-1P" well in the licenced area of Sarikamysh (36 km from Dushanbe in the Shakhrinav region). On 9thDecember, the well had reached a depth of 3387 metres out of the total projected depth of 6300 metres. At the same time Ms. Crassus thanked the leadership of the Republic for their support in the execution of this investment project.
President Rahmon then wished Gazprom further successes in the search for hydrocarbon deposits in Tajikistan, and instructed the heads of relevant ministries and departments to give Gazprom International their full support.
The head of the Tajik government proposed to observe ‘The Day of the Geologist’ annually on 9th December in the Republic, which previously was celebrated on the first Sunday in April. Nike Zoom Shift Shoe
