According to a statement by Petrovietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP), the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group Petrovietnam (PVN) has decided to make PVEP Vice President Ngo Huu Hai a member of the PVEP Board of Directors and to appoint him President and CEO of the corporation as of 20 November 2015.
Do Van Khanh, the previous head of the Сorporation, was made Chairman of the Management Board of the Oil and Gas Drilling & Well Services Corporation (PV Drilling, also part of Petrovietnam).
Ngo Huu Hai (b. 1962) has a PhD in Petroleum Production Technology. He was one of the specialists directly involved in the very first oil production at the Bach Ho field on the MSP-1 platform. From 1985 to 2006, he worked on nearly every production platform at the Bach Ho field and held numerous key positions. Starting in August 2006, he was the Deputy General Manager and then General Manager of the Joint Operating Company Hoan Vu (Hoan Vu JOC), as well as Deputy General Manager of the Joint Operating Company Hoang Long (Hoang Long JOC). In August 2008, he was appointed head of Hoang Long - Hoan Vu JOC. In January 2013, he became Vice President of PVEP and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Operating Company for the exploration and production of oil and gas in the country (PVEP POC), a member unit of PVEP, where he directly oversaw the production.
