Heavy equipment has started to arrive at the Shakhrinav 1-P drilling site
Heavy high-load equipment intended for the installation of a drilling rig has started to arrive at the Shakhrinav-1 P drilling site (36 kilometres south-west of Dushanbe), where Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz is carrying out preparations for drilling the first exploratory well.
As of 28 September, three trucks with heavy equipment had arrived at the drill site, with an overall mass of 84 tonnes.
Each of the 14-metre-long articulated lorries travelled without difficulty along the mountain section of the road constructed from the villages of Bolshevik and Kyzylbulok to the drill point. Construction engineering work is now complete on this stretch of road.
All in all, from 25 September to 3 October, equipment with a total weight of 370 tonnes will be delivered along this road to the drill point.
The installation of the drilling rig is planned to be completed by the end of October this year, in accordance with the approved schedule.
The general drilling contractor is the Orenburgsky Drillng Company.
The company is planning to start on drilling the Sakhrinav-1 well in November this year.
The Sarikamysh field is estimated to have the best prospects from all of Gazprom's four licensed areas.
Sakhrinav 1 is the deepest well in the Republic of Tajikistan. It is 6,300 metres deep.
Gazprom zarubezhneftegaz, at Gazprom's request, is undertaking the hydrocarbon exploration and prospecting project in Tajikistan.
The company is currently carrying out geological exploration work in 4 areas licensed by Gazprom: the Sarikamysh field (Shakhrinavsky district), the Sargazon field (Dangarinsky district) the Rengan field (Rudaki district), and the West Shokhambari field (Gissarsky district).
