I would like to take this opportunity to offer you my wholehearted greetings on the occasion of the Oil and Gas Industry Workers Day!
Working in the oil and gas industries is both an extremely important and a highly responsible job. Energy security in Russia to a large extent depends on the sustainability of its oil and gas industries which makes the work carried out by Gazprom of great strategic value to the country's economy.
We are constantly expanding our geographic reach and creating new production facilities, which will lay the foundation for the further development of domestic fuel and energy sector for decades to come. We are also charting new routes for the shipment of hydrocarbons. This year, despite the severe climate conditions of the Yamal Peninsula, we launched The Arctic Gate, which is a unique oil terminal. For the first time in history, we have guaranteed the possibility of all year round shipping of Yamal oil by sea. Thus, a new oil production centre is currently on the ascendancy in what used to be a traditionally gas-prevalent region.
Gazprom is creating powerful production and transportation infrastructure in entirely new locations. Construction is now in full swing in Yakutia to complete the new Power of Siberia pipeline and the Chayandinskoye field is currently under development. I am certain that in the very near future this will provide us with a strong export channel, thus contributing to the economic growth and prosperity of Russia's eastern regions.
Gazprom is developing dynamically, constantly acquiring new experience and implementing technical innovations. With its complex projects on the Yamal Peninsula, the Arctic Shelf, and in Eastern Russia, the company is contributing to the modernization and improvement of the overall technological level of a large number of related sectors of domestic science and industry.
Every year more and more people in our country are coming to appreciate the benefits of using natural gas. This is an obvious result of Gazprom's large-scale projects to provide gasification to Russia's regions and the expansion of the gas-engine fuel market. Furthermore, we are continuing to satisfy the growing demand for Russian gas amongst foreign consumers, while constantly improving our commercial practices in this most popular and environmentally friendly fuel.
Our work is much in demand today, and will continue to be so tomorrow. We work hard day by day to provide gas, light and warmth in the homes of the people around us. From the bottom of my heart I offer my wishes for robust health, happiness and prosperity to you and your loved ones.
