The 3rd International Offshore Marintec Russia Forum (OMR) dedicated to shipbuilding and high-tech equipment innovations for the development of the continental shelf and the Arctic regions was held on 2-5 October 2018 in Saint Petersburg.
This year, the Youth Forum was held for the first time within the framework of OMR 2018. The event organized with the support of Gazprom International was dedicated to personnel training and promising developments of young scientists, specialists and students.
Alexander Nikiforov, Deputy Managing Director for HR and Legal, gave a welcome speech at the opening of the Youth Forum.
“The Youth Forum is a unique platform aimed at developing the younger generation’s activity in oil and gas industry we belong to. For us, this is an opportunity to discuss the results of promising scientific and research findings of young scientists and students in the field of the development of hydrocarbon resources within the continental shelf, exchange opinions and share experience”, said Alexander Nikiforov.
The following representatives of Gazprom PJSC took part in the panel discussion: Tatyana Tokareva, Deputy Head of Department, Head of Directorate; Vadim Petrenko, Head of Department; Andrey Balobin, Deputy Head of Directorate of Department; and others.
More than 35 young specialists spoke at the Youth Forum during three days. The key event was the panel discussion “Prospects and Challenges for Using the Northern Sea Route” with the participation of the executives of the leading industry-specific universities, administrative bodies, subsidiaries and organizations of Gazprom PJSC on the one side, and students, graduate students and young specialists on the other side. The discussion raised such topical issues as training, maintenance and development of business skills and professional competencies of personnel.
Since 2014, Offshore Marintec Russia has become a professional platform for the demonstration of modern technical solutions at all stages of the Russian offshore development. In Russia, this is the first international specialized exhibition dedicated to shipbuilding for the shelf and development of offshore infrastructure for oil and gas production, which brings together hundreds of experts from the leading international companies.
