Presentation of a book “To the Wealth of the Yellow Dragon” took place today at the Headquarters of JV Vietsovpetro in Vung Tau City (Vietnam) in the presence of the company management and industry veterans. The publication sponsored by Gazprom EP International highlights cooperation between Vietnamese and Russian (formerly Soviet) experts in the oil and gas sector. Co-authors of the book V. Vovk, V. Osmanov and Y. Evdoshenko dedicated over 5 years to this work. Vietnamese colleagues gave substantial support in collecting materials by providing documents and photographs from personal archives and giving interviews.
Vladimir Vovk, who was the General Director of JV Vietsovpetro over 25 years ago, started his speech by thanking the publication contributors. He talked about the enormous work, performed in those years by the experts of both countries to provide for the development of the oil and gas industry and improvement of the economic potential of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Presenting the book Vladimir Vovk emphasized their proactive approach as the key to success: “We always took planning very seriously. When leaving Vietnam I knew that there was a Work Program until 2030, and defined prospects. Long-term thinking allowed us to see far ahead and not to shun obligations”.
The common cause for the benefit of both states, the exchange of experience and the desire to grow professionally have strengthened business ties and become the basis of friendly relations between the Russian and Vietnamese experts. Today’s warm reception and meeting old friends is another confirmation of this.
In the end of the presentation, the books were formally handed to the industry veterans and the Vietsovpetro museum.
