The 11th meeting of the Technical Subcommittee for block 112 of the continental shelf of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the 2nd meeting of the Technical Subcommittee for blocks 129,130, 131 and 132 of the continental shelf of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam took place at the joint operating company, Vietgazprom. Members of sections of the Technical Subcommittee and leading specialists from the Russian and Vietnamese contracting parties took part in the meeting – from Gazprom, Petrovietnam, Gazprom Zarubezhneftegaz, PVEP, Vietgazprom, Gazprom VNIIGAZ, TyumenNIIgiprogaz, the Gubkin Russian State University for Oil and Gas, Reservoir Service, SMNG-Centre, and Schlumberger Logelco.
The main topics under discussion at the 11th meeting of the Technical Subcommittee for block 112 were the work planned in accordance with the approved Work Programme for 2010 and the progress of its implementation, and the co-ordinates of the drill sites and the drilling depth of prospecting holes and exploratory wells in block 112, taking the expansion of the field into account.
The participants at the meeting also familiarised themselves with the Plan for Exploration Work in the Bao Den Deposit. An operational assessment was given of the stocks of gas and condensate in the deposit, along with the basic technical and economic characteristics of the construction, the volume and the schedule for carrying out the exploration project work for 2010-2012.
A more accurate geological explanation of the drill sites for the exploratory well VGP-113-BV-3X in the Bao Bang structure was examined at the meeting, which has been altered according to the results of independent interpretation of 3D seismic data.
At the second meeting of the Technical Subcommittee for blocks 129-132, there was discussion about the implementation of the 2010 programme of work for these blocks, in particular concerning the geological and geophysical works. Additions to the Programme of carrying out offshore 2D seismic survey work and the Programme for carrying out offshore geochemical studies were examined. It was noted by the meeting's participants that to increase the efficiency of the geological survey work in blocks 129-132, the second and third stages of the work had been amalgamated, and it was proposed that complex interpretation of the geophysical and geochemical data be carried out, and exploration assessment work.
At the meeting of the Technical Subcommittee in question, the results of the pre-qualification of possible contractors for carrying out the offshore electro-exploratory work in blocks 129-132 were submitted, the company's resources for implementing offshore electro-exploratory work were analysed, and the estimated cost for these works was assessed.
During the proceedings of both meetings, the 2010 Training Programme for Vietnamese specialists was approved.
