“Africa Eco Race is not just an important event in the rally world, it requires a special team spirit and motorcar technologies to combat the sand. We are competitors and teammates at the same time. The chance of success here largely depends on team spirit, as we are all equal when facing the raw elements of nature. We came here to challenge the desert once again and the gas-powered KAMAZ has become more powerful and reliable. We have prepared for this race all year and now we are ready to prove that gas is an efficient fuel once again”, Sergey Kupriyanov, pilot of the gas-powered KAMAZ says.
Gazprom International wishes good luck to the KAMAZ teams in achieving new heights at the Africa Eco Race 2016.

The gas-powered KAMAZ is a special model of a sports truck where compressed natural gas is used as a fuel. The vehicle was designed in 2013 by the KAMAZ master team, supported by PAO Gazprom and VTB Bank. The aim of the project is to demonstrate the abilities of natural gas as a motor fuel for vehicles. Gazprom Gas-Engine Fuel LLC provides information and advertising support to KAMAZ during its participation in sports activities. The company carries out activities relating to the popularisation of natural gas as a motor fuel.
Africa Eco Race is an annual rally marathon that follows a historic Dakar Rally route: through Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal. The race route consists of 12 stages and a recreation day at the Atlantic coastline in Dakhla, Morocco. The length of the route is 6,000km, including 3,750km of speed sections.
